My Book is Here - and I'm In Texas This Weekend!

Friends, I’m so excited to share that my new book is finally available: Grief & Grace: Comfort for the Brokenhearted.

This is a collection of short, practical reads for anyone walking through loss. It brings together pieces from my weekly Grief & Grace column in the Grenada Star, along with honest mental health insights, gentle biblical encouragement, and a simple “griever’s toolbox” drawn from more than 15 years in hospice care and decades of walking alongside people in grief. You’ll also find personal stories and reflections from Community Voices who have traveled similar roads.

Each short piece is written to meet you right where you are—whether you’re facing the death of someone you love, anticipatory grief, unexplained sorrow, or the long, ordinary days of healing. Grief is hard. Grace is greater. You don’t have to walk this road alone.

This Weekend in Texas

I’m also privileged to be in the Clute / West Columbia / West Columbus area of Texas this weekend for The Science & Soul of Grief Weekend Grief Workshop, hosted in partnership with The Rock Church United and The Lighthouse Church.

Sessions include identifying your loss and exploring your roots, grief and its connection to your personality, mapping losses, the science of grief, when death takes a spouse, when loss is traumatic, and “Hunt the Good.” Certificate of completion is available for those who attend all sessions. Information, snacks, and local sponsors will be there too.

Sunday, November 8 – 10:00 am

Healing & Renewal Services — All Veterans and their families are especially welcome. A token of appreciation will be given to veterans in attendance.

• The Rock Church United, 540 S. Main Street, Clute

• The Lighthouse Church, 501 W. Brazos Ave, West Columbus

I’ll be there with Dr. Jeffrey Smith (Chaplain, Texas Air National Guard) and Rev. Paul Goff. It’s going to be a meaningful weekend of practical grief education, faith, and community.

If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you. If you’re not, I’d still love for you to grab a copy of the book and know that the Grief & Grace Community is here for you.
