Mama, take courage!

My son was putting the dishes away and I heard a huge crash of glass breaking. I immediately sucked in a quick breath and turned to him, tears brimming, and through clenched teeth asked him “How many times have I asked you to be careful?!” We stood there silently staring at each other for what seemed like fooooorever, my anger teetering as I looked into the blank look on his face. I tersely spewed “just GO TO YOUR ROOM!”
Through flowing tears of frustration, I cleaned up the broken glass, I heard the voice of my Father. “Was that necessary?” I could almost see Him looking at ME the same way I stared into the face of my son. “He’s dealt with things you’re not even aware of all day at school and maintains my peace. Home is to be a haven, just as my presence is. Where is grace?”
Have you ever watched a helium balloon flying around the room as it deflates? It’s what I felt like in that moment. As I put the last of the silverware away, I bee-lined for my son’s room to ask His forgiveness for my temper and tone.
We've all at some point felt like we completely botched a moment or two when it comes to mothering.
There will be so many times you feel like you've failed, but in the eyes, heart and mind of your child you are Super Mom. ~Stephanie Precourt
Seriously. We've all heard the whispers in our minds - you messed that up. You’re failing as a mama.
But guess what???
Gods grace gives us the ability to try, and try again. You aren’t a failure, nor will you be - don’t listen to the lies. Revelation here--
The Feeling of Failure is Rooted in FEAR.

Did you know the Bible has MULTIPLE scriptures telling us to "fear not"?!
My favorite? 1 John 4:18 (Amplified)
There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love].
Chase that down with 1 John 4:8 (Amplified)
The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.]
Whom shall I fear?
Definitely not the adversary of my soul who would like nothing more than for me to live in a constant state of defeat.
I have the everlasting, unchanging, unfathomable, unmerited, immeasurable LOVE of God... and so do you.
There is no fear in Love. Walk confidently, in His Love - and always give grace. To others, and yourself.

Oh how much I appreciate your words Sis Pam!! Thank-you for sharing and for being so transparent with us.
It’s always amazed me that parenting doesn’t come with an instruction manual. And so many times in my own life I have found that what I learned as a parent took so many years of trial and error and mistakes and tears… just as you describe.
But what a BEAUTIFUL example of the Lord Jesus you lived in front of your son! You showed him how to respond to the Lord’s nudging and how to strengthen
relationships.
I will tell you that even now, at the age of sixty and with my children long grown the Lord will quicken things to…
