The Secret of Abiding in God’s Bubble

“There’s a place in God where nobody can touch you.”

It's been decades since she** spoke those words to me, yet in my mind's eye, I can still see the wistful look in her eyes and , and vividly remember how the Holy Spirit flowed through her in the sweetest, purest, and no doubt costliest of Christ’s aromas. (**She has given permission to share her story)

She was a minister's wife, and had served succesfully in many roles and was loved and respected well beyond the borders of her local church. She was one of the greatest Bible teachers and soul winners I have ever been priviledge to know. And she suffered much:

• A pastor-husband who was unfaithful.

• Seasons of intense health conditions.

• Congregants leaving in large groups.

But through it all she just kept serving God. She kept reaching for souls. She kept teaching Bible studies. She kept setting the best example of a pastor's wife she knew how to be because that was what God had called her to do.

Was it hard? Unimaginalby so. And quite honestly, I don't know if I could have done what she did. But oh how I admire her! And how I thank her for her KINGDOM LOVE and KINGDOM COMMITMENT no matter what.

And that in a nutshell, is the Secret of Abiding in God's Bubble. My friend didn't call it God's Bubble, that's my term for it, but somewhere somehow she determined that she was going to dig in and ABIDE IN GOD NO MATTER WHAT.

Here's how she explained the Secret of Abiding in God’s Bubble to me all those years ago:

“If you can learn to truly and fully abide in Christ, then nothing anyone else does to you really matters. You are His, and He is Yours. So many times I would go over to the church and lay on the couch in my office and cry out to God to change my situation, but He just kept changing me - and I kept growing closer to Him. And you know what, throughout all these years, and all that suffering, souls were saved, and the kingdom was built - and that’s what matters.”
